Summary

The Training and Development Manager prioritizes and project manages organization-wide learning and develops all HR-specific training.


Essential Duties + Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Training and Development projects to help leadership prioritize plans. Once a training initiative is approved, partner with subject-matter-experts to project plan work
  • Meet with training developers regularly to monitor project plans and work to ensure timely completion of project tasks/deliverables
  • Appropriately prioritize, design, develop, facilitate and deploy HR training and development programs, performance support tools, job aids, training manuals, materials and related documentation
  • Serve as subject-matter-expert to the business for training items. Manage special projects related to training. Partner with subject-matter experts to conduct needs analysis, prioritization, design techniques, framework and evaluate training sessions and programs
  • When training is non-HR related, help subject-matter-expert to elect and develop the appropriate training methods available to maximize understanding and adoption
  • Partner with Information Technology, HR, and Quality departments on identifying annual compliance training courses as well as define what is routed through training systems. Collaborate with external vendors to develop and deliver training if appropriate 
  • Administration of Learning Management System. Ensure all training is appropriately formatted as per brand standards in partnership with Marketing
  • Implement measurements of effectiveness and return on investment of training programs. Provide reporting and feedback
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness and deploy performance improvement initiatives 
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Education, Experience + Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Training, Communications or related field preferred
  • At least three years of directly related, human resources, training, learning & development or adult education experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design, online instructional design, adult learning theory, and the performance consulting process
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills including Word, Excel, Adobe, Office, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with an LMS
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; critical thinking skill with the ability to analyze situations, make independent decisions and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written skills are essential: must be able to write a variety of training support documentation: including training course outlines and content, participant and facilitators materials, written tests/assessments and any other documents necessary for training
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills. Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and managers in training development, delivery and modification
  • At least two years of project management experience
  • Stay current on instructional, functional, visual and technological advances in the e-Learning field
