What is the current landscape of translation technology, and what is to come? How is artificial intelligence transforming global content? What does automation look like for our content supply chains? These are just a few of the questions we are excited to explore at this week’s TAUS conference in Salt Lake City.

The Translation Automation User Society (TAUS) works to disseminate information that progresses the technologies and systems language service providers utilize.

At ULG, we make it a priority to stay updated on the most groundbreaking trends that advance language translation. The 2019 TAUS conference will give us the opportunity to gain insights that help us stay at the forefront of translation and localization practices.

Who will be there?

TAUS hosts attendees from all areas of the translation industry, including owners of global content, LSPs, technology providers, government bodies and translators.

From ULG, Global EVP of Localization and Consulting Nicholas McMahon and Regional Vice President and Account Manager Darrin Wittwer will be in attendance from June 27th to June 28th. They are looking forward to representing ULG at TAUS and connecting with other industry players to discuss issues within the field and opportunities for advancement.

What will be discussed?

The TAUS conference will provide networking opportunities, panel discussions, and keynote presentations that explore the state of the translation industry in 2019. This includes updates on the newest technologies, discussion surrounding advanced language and localization services, and strategies for consulting and communicating with potential new clients and executives.

ULG’s Nicholas McMahon will be participating in “The Data Conversation” on Thursday 27th at 14:15 as  part of the Power to Data Panel topic for the conference. The discussion will focus on how machine translation and machine learning differ and their unique mix of algorithms and data

Other panelists will include: Laura Dickey (Amazon), Christian Federmann (Microsoft), Ken Morimoto (Appen)
